A Classic Wallabies squad featuring Stephen Moore, Nathan Sharpe, George Smith and Lote Tuqiri is set to light up Rockhampton’s Victoria Park on Friday 7 May.
They will tackle the Beef Barbarians, a team of beef producers and industry identities especially drafted in celebration of Beef 2021 - the triennial Beef Australia week-long expo for Australia’s beef industry.
It will be the Classic Wallabies’ first match since they took on Classic Japan in Tokyo in 2019.
The match is the culmination of a week-long schedule of events and activities for the Classic Wallabies, with Classic Wallabies and Classic Wallaroos ambassadors involved in coaching clinics and visits throughout the region in the days leading up to the match.
The action kicks off from 3.30pm with the ‘Beef Capital Plate’ U21s City V Country Women’s 10’s and ‘The Beef Capital Cup’ U21s City V Country Mens, followed by the Classic Wallabies Vs The Beef Barbarians clash from 6.30pm. There will be live entertainment post-match.
Everyone on ground will have the opportunity to meet the Classic Wallabies before and after the match, with a host of opportunities available to fans.
Before the match, Beef 2021 delegates will enjoy the Classic Wallabies Sportsman’s Lunch, which sold out within days of the release of tickets.
However tickets still remain available for the match day Corporate area where you will rub shoulders with the Classic Wallabies, enjoying a food and beverage package in a private area. Plus general admission tickets are on sale, with adults tickets just $15 and kids under 18 enjoying free entry. All attendees including kids must secure a ticket online in advance under the Beef 2021 Covid Safe Event Plan.
