A tough, gritty and uncompromising front row forward, Ben Daley had an immediate impact on the world, albeit the rugby league world, when he was born in 1988. Ben’s father Phil, a member of that year’s NSW rugby league State of Origin team, was unceremoniously dumped when he broke camp to be with wife Vicki for Ben's birth. Phil bounced back to represent his country later that year and 21 years on Ben’s Wallaby selection represented national team recognition for a second generation of his family. A schools and aged representative, Daley made his Super 14 debut for Queensland in 2008 when he came off the bench against the Crusaders. 2010 proved to be Daley’s breakthrough year when he started all bar one of the Red’s tournament fixtures. Following injuries to Benn Robinson and Ben Alexander, Daley then made his Test debut against England in Perth. At the Reds end of season awards night Daley won the "The QR Spirit of the Reds", awarded to the player who best displays the attributes and characteristics that the team strives to embody.

Represented Australian Schools against Japan High Schools, Samoan U18s and New Zealand Schools as well as all four Tests on the tour to the U.K. and Ireland.
2006
Selected in the Australian squad which won the third-annual IRB U19s Junior World Championship title in the United Arab Emirates.
2008
Selected in the Australian squad for the inaugural IRB U20s Junior World Championship title in Wales.
2010
Daley won his first Test cap when selected at loose head prop in the 27-17, 1st Test victory over England in Perth. The scrum was an intense focus during the contest as Australia infamously conceded two penalty tries to the visitors. Daley won his final two caps in the ensuing Tests, the 2nd against England in Sydney and the one-off Test against Ireland in Brisbane. He was omitted from the squad for the Tri Nations tournament when incumbent No. 1 Benn Robinson returned to the side.
