Biography

Cameron Blades was a versatile front row forward who joined a select group of brothers (Andrew, #733) to represent the Wallabies at Test level.

A proud and dedicated scrummager, Blades graduated from Killara High School in Sydney's north and joined the Gordon club. He then won a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport Rugby Academy and from there represented Australian U21s.

In 1996 Blades was selected for the end-of-season Wallaby tour, played four mid-week, uncapped games on that tour, but did not play a Test. Upon his return Blades switched to Randwick and went on to make his state debut for New South Wales against Orange Free State in Sydney. Three months later he made his Test debut against England in Sydney. While he also toured Argentina in late 1997 the win over England in Sydney was the sole Test match of his career.
