A graduate of Marist College, Ashgrove Nick Frisby was forced to bide his time at rugby’s senior level due to the imposing presence of Will Genia. Frisby spent his first four seasons at the Queensland Reds firmly in the shadow of the incumbent Wallaby halfback however Genia’s move to France after the 2015 Rugby World Cup opened the door for him to pursue higher honours.

Frisby’s patience and hard work were rewarded in 2016 when he was selected in the Wallaby squad for the home series against England.

Selected in the Australian U20s squad for the fifth-annual IRB Junior World Championship tournament in South Africa.

Frisby won his first Test cap off the bench when he came on as a late replacement for Nick Phipps in the 28-39, 1st Test loss to England at Suncorp. He won replacement caps in a further four Tests including two - against Wales and then England - on the end-of-season Spring Tour.
