There are two new inductions into the Hall of Fame with George Smith and Tui Ormsby honoured at the Rugby Australia Awards on Friday 17th October, 2025.
Wallaby #764 Smith is a worthy induction into the Wallabies Hall of Fame as one of the best flankers of his generation, earning 111 caps in the gold jersey across over a decade.
Wallaroo #47 Ormsby, who is a trailblazer in every definition of the word in Women’s Rugby, goes into the Australian Women’s Rugby Hall of Fame having earned 24 caps across an incredible 17-year Wallaroos career from 1997-2014, including four Rugby World Cups (1998, 2002, 2010 & 2014).
The Wallabies Hall of Fame was established in 2005, celebrating and recognising our Wallabies who made a major contribution to the game of Rugby both on and off the Rugby field.
The Australian Women's Rugby Hall of Fame was established in 2024: the 30th anniversary of the Wallaroos first ever test match in 1994.
Ormsby becomes only the fourth woman to achieve the accolade, joining inaugural inductees Selena Tranter (nee Worlsey, Classic Wallaroo #7) and Cheryl Mcafee (nee Soon, Classic Wallaroo #64), along with 2016 Olympic gold medallist Emilee Barton (nee Cherry).
